1 in 2

Nearly 1 in 2 dementia cases are linked to factors you can influence. In 2024, the Lancet Commission put it at up to 45%, across 14 factors from hearing and blood pressure to sleep, movement, and connection.

Most of it isn’t fixed. It’s a to-do list, and it starts with knowing where you stand.

How it works

A clear starting point, one screen at a time

STEP 1

Answer a few questions

Quick questions on your habits, health, and family history. One screen at a time, about 3 minutes.

STEP 2

See your 6-pillar map

Your answers become a scored brain-health snapshot across the six pillars, with your strongest and weakest clearly marked.

STEP 3

Get your #1 lever

The one area where a focused change would move the needle most, with a first step you can take this week.

The framework

Six pillars of brain aging

Brain health isn’t one thing. The check scores you on all six, so you see your strengths and the one place to start.

Learning & cognitive reserve

New skills, mentally demanding work, and lifelong learning build a buffer against decline.

Movement & heart health

Exercise is the single most studied brain intervention. Blood pressure and cholesterol matter too.

Nutrition & metabolism

What’s good for your heart is good for your brain. Blood sugar and weight quietly shape both.

Sleep

Deep sleep is your brain’s nightly cleanup. Duration, quality, and timing all count.

Emotional health & connection

Mood, stress, and social ties are among the most modifiable factors of all.

Risk protection

Hearing, vision, alcohol, head protection: small basics with an outsized payoff.

What the science says

The evidence behind each area

Every question maps to published research. A few of the findings your check is built on:

88% lower

dementia rate in women with high midlife fitness, tracked over 44 years

Hörder et al., 2018, Neurology

up to 53% lower

Alzheimer’s rate in people who closely followed the MIND diet

Morris et al., 2015

32% lower

dementia even at high genetic risk, for those who lived healthily

Lourida et al., JAMA 2019

These are associations from published studies, shown to illustrate the factors the check covers. They are not a diagnosis or a promise of any individual outcome.

Why trust this

Built on published research

Grounded in the science of modifiable risk

The six pillars map to the factors identified by the 2024 Lancet Commission and decades of population research (NHANES, Framingham, and others). Each result links to the study behind it.

Honest about what habits can and can’t do

We don’t sell a memory pill or a brain game. No product in this category can prevent dementia, and the ones that claimed otherwise were fined. We help you act on what the evidence supports.

A starting point, not a diagnosis

This check is educational. It doesn’t diagnose or predict disease. It shows where your everyday choices are helping your brain, and where a small shift could help more.

Made for people who’d rather act early

  • You’ve started noticing small memory slips and want to know what’s normal.
  • Someone in your family had dementia, and you don’t want to leave it to chance.
  • You’re in your 40s, 50s, or 60s and want to protect the decades ahead.
  • You’d rather have a clear, evidence-based plan than vague worry.

Questions people ask

Is this a dementia test?

No. This is an educational brain-health check based on lifestyle and health factors. It does not diagnose, screen for, or predict any disease, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

It runs in my family. Does lifestyle even matter?

Yes. In a study of nearly 200,000 adults, people at high genetic risk who lived healthily had about a 32% lower rate of dementia than those who didn’t (Lourida et al., JAMA 2019). Genes load the odds; daily habits still move them.

How long does it take?

It’s one question per screen and moves quickly. Most people finish in a single sitting.

Is it only a questionnaire?

Yes. Focused questions about your habits, health, and family history build your six-area snapshot, scored against the factors research links to brain aging.

Do you factor in my genes and family history?

Yes. The check asks about family history and, if you know it, your ApoE status, and folds them into a plain-language read. Genes load the odds; your daily habits still move them.

What do I get at the end?

A brain-health snapshot across the six pillars and a clear, personalized starting point, based on the factors the research says matter most.

Is it free?

The check and your snapshot are free.
